Socialization-2006- ongoing is a candid narrative photographic portrait series about the unexpected pageantry of the world around me. I am looking and thinking about the ways in which we interact with and cope with others as well as objects, landscapes, animals and the inevitable solitude and struggle with self.
My photographs alternately describe my feeling of social anxiety and wonderment. The camera relieves my voyeuristic tendencies and makes my gaze tolerable. It offers me solace and a way to interact with moments that are much too painful to exist, offering me a buffer between reality and my emotions.
